Gimme a break

Today I am a good mom because even though on occasion I may blog excessively, I am not this addicted to the Internet:

Nevada couple too busy playing Dungeons and Dragons to care for kids.

I read this article on yahoo news, and my favorite part was that the husband was described as "an unemployed cashier".

I was so going to talk about this. teehee.

My favorite is that they had a 50k inheritance that he spent on plasma screens? And Cheetos I'd imagine.

This is me said...

I would venture to say that they were not "too busy playing Dungeons and
Dragons to care for kids" but rather too stupid and immature to care for kids. That seems like a much better explanation.

I am reminded that you have to have a license to fish, but just any idiot can starve two babies under one year of age.

that article made me ill as i shared it with new mr. tia over breakfast. along with cw, to quote keanu reeves on the 80's movie parenthood, "you need license to drive, you need a license to fish, but any idiot can be a parent."

down here in southwest florida the new trend is leaving children in automobiles. locked automobiles. in the mid day heat. in july. for hours at a time. so they can shop.

and i'm not even a mommy, let alone a good mommy or a bad mommy. does that make this comment completely void?

tia--no. Your comment is not void.

Because even though every mommy will tell you about that time she felt so bad because her baby accidentally rolled off the couch, anyone--mommy or not--knows how stupid it is to leave your kid in the hot car while you go in for a pedicure or forget to feed your 1-month-old for days because you were deep into dungeons and dragons.

I have never let my baby fall off the couch. Certainly not in the last week!

WHAT? He started rolling over and not telling us. Kids these days, they keep everything from their parents.

I read this to my husband...I like the part about how addiction to computer games is a PSYCHOLOGICAL DISORDER. My own added emphasis. ;-) He didn't appreciate the same way I did. These are two people who should have had their tubes tied.
