I was just on the phone with my favorite Good Mommy, and I heard her say the following disciplinary phrase:
"No. No. No. No. No. No. No. If you want me to say it again, I will. And you will be grounded."
Isn't that just the best thing you have ever heard?

I must write this down.
Yes, yes, YES!
(But I thought I was your favorite! *wink*)
You forgot, "And get OUT of the kitchen. Out. Now. OUT!"
Growing up, I had friends that would hound their parents until they got the answer they were looking for. If they came to play at my house, and my mother said we couldn't do something, they invariably said, "well, keep asking her until she says yes!" to which I would try to explain the following policy:
"No means no, ask me again and the next thing you ask for the answer will be no, too".
That didn't mean another no to what I was asking for- it meant a no to whatever I asked for that night or the next day.
Apparently this concept was difficult to grasp.. But I use it with my daughter and the kids I babysit, so maybe the indoctrination must start at an early age to work.
